We are looking to recruit a team of staff for a new and exciting venture in Wakefield. Our client will be opening Wakefield’s first Doggy Daycare facility and require 2 qualified shift managers to coordinate our team and work closely with the Doggy Daycare Manager.

This unique facility offers Day Care for dogs (generally whilst people are at work). It is a luxury unkennelled environment, resembling a children’s day nursery, where dogs play freely together. They have ball pits, climbing frames, paddling pools, slides and wendy houses, plus lots of interactive games for the dogs to play.

Duties include: -

• Vigilance in supervising care, well-being and entertainment of the dogs and recording of the activities to tell the ‘parents’ at the end of the day
• Tending to the dogs thoughtfully, gently and with care
• Feeding the dogs correctly (measured and on time)
• Careful and efficient monitoring of any changes or differences in dogs’ behaviour/temperament/condition
• Placing service levels at an inspirational level.
• General cleaning duties, hoovering, sweeping, mopping, polishing, washing up etc
• Any other reasonable duties as per the needs of the business evolves.

Criteria: -

• You will be expected to demonstrate a calm logical approach
• You will have experience working with dogs, ideally within a kennels or a similar capacity, for at least one year.
• You will have an animal care qualification – ideally animal management level 2 or 3 and hold a canine first aid certificate.
• Be a team player, supporting and communicating is key – especially with the customers
• A natural love of dogs
• A caring and professional approach
• Efficient, paying careful attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions exactly
• Highly committed to the dogs’ wellbeing and happiness
• Highly dedicated to the business
• A driving licence would be advantageous
